Reflecting on My Internship Experience

Posted by Wesley in Transitions

On the whole I had a very good internship experience. I learned a lot about myself and about working in a different culture. I'm happy to be back in the US and to continue my journey at Pitt.

What Went Right, What Went Wrong: My Summer in Spain

Posted by Nicholas in Transitions

My summer is more or less over. I’ve met some amazing people and I’ve eaten some great food. Nothing more could have made this summer more wonderful. It’s been quite the journey, but this is my final post. I’ll reflect on my time abroad how I’m adjusting to life back in the States.

Falling in Love With London

Posted by Kelli in Transitions

I bid London farewell on Primrose Hill during the sunrise rather than the sunset. This would be a new day, a new beginning, and a new adventure. After living in London for two months, I was prepared to take what I learned and experienced back with me to Texas.

Gaudi and Goodbyes

Posted by Kelli in Exploring

I explored Barcelona, admired Gaudi’s amazing architecture, and ate the best brunches! Then I said goodbye to London by visiting my favorite places. From St. Paul’s Cathedral to Parliament Square, I managed to fit in everything that I wanted to see before heading back to Texas!

Saying My Final Goodbyes and Getting Ready to Head Back!

Posted by Nicholas in Transitions

Right now, I’ve more or less finished my job and I’m finishing saying my goodbyes. I’ve been trying to buy some final gifts for my friends and my family back home, but I’ve been having a hard time finding gifts that I think they will like.

All Good Things Must Come to an End: My Final Week and Reflection

Posted by Paige in Transitions

I am so glad I had a chance to do this internship. I am a little sad that it's over when there are still a ton of things that need to be improved or established that I wish I could have done, but it comforts me knowing there are more interns taking my place right after I leave. I hope the work I was doing at the centre continues. I’ll give you a recap of my last week and reflect on my time here.

Power and Water Outages and the Iguana Reserve

Posted by Paige in Exploring

I originally had nothing planned for Sunday. Little did I know that the day had many adventures in store for me. Waking up without power and then without water, there was no way we could just sit around the house all day so we set out to see more of what Belize has to offer.

Reflections on My Social Development Internship and Saying Goodbye

Posted by Joshua in Transitions

I’ve just arrived back home in Virginia and can now truly reflect on my experience in Ghana. I’ll go through how I feel about Intrax, the project, my homestay family, the adventures, the interns, Ghana itself, and why this was the trip of a lifetime.

Tying Up Loose Ends & Winding Down

It is my final week here in Ghana and there is still a lot to be done! I am finishing up several projects at work, some assignments from Intrax, getting my final gifts, and enjoying my last few days in this beautiful country.
