The Global Internships Blog
My summer is more or less over. I’ve met some amazing people and I’ve eaten some great food. Nothing more could have made this summer more wonderful. It’s been quite the journey, but this is my final post. I’ll reflect on my time abroad how I’m adjusting to life back in the States.
I bid London farewell on Primrose Hill during the sunrise rather than the sunset. This would be a new day, a new beginning, and a new adventure. After living in London for two months, I was prepared to take what I learned and experienced back with me to Texas.
I explored Barcelona, admired Gaudi’s amazing architecture, and ate the best brunches! Then I said goodbye to London by visiting my favorite places. From St. Paul’s Cathedral to Parliament Square, I managed to fit in everything that I wanted to see before heading back to Texas!
I am so glad I had a chance to do this internship. I am a little sad that it's over when there are still a ton of things that need to be improved or established that I wish I could have done, but it comforts me knowing there are more interns taking my place right after I leave. I hope the work I was doing at the centre continues. I’ll give you a recap of my last week and reflect on my time here.
I originally had nothing planned for Sunday. Little did I know that the day had many adventures in store for me. Waking up without power and then without water, there was no way we could just sit around the house all day so we set out to see more of what Belize has to offer.
